Giovanni Maranghi

Giovanni Maranghi was born in 1955 in Lastra a Signa (Fi). He pursued his studies in Florence, where he graduated from the Artistic High School 'Leon Battista Alberti' before enrolling in the Faculty of Architecture. During his university studies, he alternated between attending life drawing classes at the Academy of Fine Arts and interacting with artists such as Primo Conti, Lucio Venna, and Paulo Ghiglia. At the age of twenty, he held a solo exhibition at the Galleria San Ferdinando in Bari. Some noteworthy events from these early years include exhibitions at the Galleria d'Arte Spinetti in Florence (1982), Galleria Dalders in Amsterdam (1985), and Galleria Diva in Brussels (1987).

The 1990s began with a solo exhibition at the Galleria Nuovo Sagittario in Milan, followed by various exhibitions in the United States. The new century started with an exhibition at the Hotel Excelsior in Florence, inspired by the poems of Fosco Maraini. In 2001, Mondadori Editore dedicated an editorial to him in the magazine 'Arte.' In the following years, he exhibited in Paris, Siena, Pietrasanta (Lu), Matera, Florence (within the Palazzine Lorenesi during 'Pitti Immagine'), and Forte dei Marmi (Lu), as well as in the Netherlands, France, Russia, and the United States. He displayed his works at the Basilica della SS. Vergine del Carmelo in Piacenza, the Antico Spedale degli Innocenti in Florence, in the United States, in Göteborg (Sweden), and in Paris. He also exhibited in Monte Carlo during the 69th Formula 1 Grand Prix, with an exposition on the yacht 'Planet 125.' This was followed by a performance inside the NK department store in Göteborg and an exhibition in Lajatico (Pi) for the 'Teatro del Silenzio 2011.'

Subsequently, he exhibited in Berlin, Paris, and Montreux (Switzerland), then in Pontassieve (Fi) and Stuttgart (Germany). He returned to Göteborg, followed by exhibitions at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, in Beijing with the exhibition 'Capriccio Italiano,' in Berlin, and in Stuttgart. His solo exhibitions include those in Stuttgart, curated by Kunstgalerie Bech, within the prestigious Schloss Solitude, at Ca' dei Carraresi in Treviso, in Florence, and in Matera. Among his recent exhibitions are 'Immersione' at the Lu.C.C.A. - Lucca Center of Contemporary Art and 'Ama solo me' with the Fondazione Maimeri at the M.A.C. in Milan. Giovanni Maranghi lives and works in the province of Florence.
