Elisabetta Rogai

Elisabetta Rogai, born in Florence, has been painting since the age of nine. She began exhibiting in 1970, re-emerging publicly and consistently in the art world in the early 2000s. A hiatus allowed her to develop an expressive style with lyrical values and efficiency in robust structure. Portraits, figures, nudes placed in a timeless realm, reclining with their thoughts on tumultuous and vibrant backgrounds, as if their presence encapsulates every before and after, every story, and every sought, lost, or conquered tranquility.

In 2001, her first solo exhibition took place at the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, followed by a series of events in Florence, Pietrasanta (Lu), Lugano (Switzerland), and participation in 'Le salon des artistes' (Cannes, France). She held three solo exhibitions at Palazzo Borghese (Florence), Hotel Capri Palace (Capri, Naples), and Palagio di Parte Guelfa (Florence). Later, the solo exhibition 'Riflessioni' at Gran Caffè Quadri in Piazza San Marco in Venice and at the Chiostro di Sant'Agostino in Pietrasanta.

In 2005, the Municipality of Florence chose her as the city's representative for the 40th anniversary of twinning with Kyoto (Japan), where she exhibited. She then showcased her works at Palazzo Crispi in Naples and Galleria Schubert in Milan. Her art has been displayed internationally in the United States, Hong Kong, Greece, Lithuania, Venezuela, and China.

In addition to traditional production, Rogai creates frescoes, including one commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Air Warfare School in Florence (2008). In 2011, she launched EnoArte, a technique of painting using wine, and conducted live painting performances in public spaces and in the cellars of major Italian wineries.

In 2014, she exhibited in Florence at Palazzo Medici Riccardi with a solo show titled 'Molta follia suprema saggezza.' In 2015, she painted the Palio di Siena banner and was awarded the title of 'Accademica' at the Accademia delle Arti del disegno in Florence.

In 2016, for the first time, an artist painted with wine on white Carrara marble during the solo exhibition 'Donne Oltre' at Galleria Open Once in Pietrasanta. Also in 2016, she was at the Art Dynasty Gallery in Forte dei Marmi with 'Oltre le Stelle,' followed by the solo exhibition 'Nell'Anima' at the Magazzini del Sale in the Palazzo Comunale di Siena.

In 2018, Rogai received the Caterina de' Medici award for artistic merits at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. The artist lives and works between Florence and the Florentine countryside.
