Edward Giobbi

Edward Giobbi was born in 1926 in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Italian parents. In 1946, he completed his studies at the Whitney School of Art, in 1950 at the Vesper George School of Art, and in 1954 at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Since 1952, he has participated in numerous international exhibitions in New York, Lucerne, Memphis, Katonah, London, Princeton, Washington, Boston, Detroit, Waterbury, Palm Beach, Rome, and Milan. In Tuscany, a region he particularly loves, he has exhibited in Florence at the Palazzo Medici Riccardi and in Certaldo at the Palazzo Pretorio. His works are included in prestigious public collections, such as the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, the Allentown Art Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League of New York, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooks Memorial Gallery in Memphis, the Hood Museum of Art in Hanover, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
