Nico Paladini was born in 1949 in Empoli, in the province of Florence. His boundless energy and vitality, honed through his relentless pursuits as an explorer, climber and speleologist, find their way into his work as a painter. In the late 1960s he graduated from the Art Institute of Siena, and he mounted his first exhibitions in the early 1970s. By the mid-1980s he had added graphic design and fashion photography to his creative repertoire.\n\nIn 1987 he presented a solo show at Galleria La Barcaccia in Rome. The following year he took part in a group exhibition at Galleria Il Prato dei Miracoli in Pisa, and in 1990 he was featured in the Premio Italia events in Bologna and Tione. He then returned to solo displays at Galleria La Gradiva in Montecatini Terme, exhibited \u201cLa donna e l\u2019orchidea\u201d in 1991 on Reunion Island, and in 1992 presented \u201cPassaparola\u201d in Barberino del Mugello.\n\nIn 1993 the Metropolismo movement, of which Paladini is a key figure, was showcased at Spazio Flaminio in Rome in a major exhibition curated by Omar Calabrese, Alberto Abruzzese, Renato Minore and Valerio Deh\u00f2. Subsequent Metropolismo events included a show at Galleria Salamandra in Siracusa and culminated with a 1995 presentation at Madrid\u2019s Instituto de Cultura, introduced by Achille Bonito Oliva. Since then his work has also appeared at the Young Museum in Revere and in Brussels.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

He went on to mount further solo and Metropolismo exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy, culminating in a show at the Scuderie di Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome in 2012. He took part in the traveling exhibition \u201c50 Tuscan Painters for 50 Tuscan Singers,\u201d held in twelve venues across Tuscany, and was one of the featured artists in \u201cAlong Venus\u2019s Road,\u201d shown at Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio and at the Terme Tettuccio in Montecatini Terme.\n\nSubsequent exhibitions included \u201cVuoti a perdere\u201d in the Sala del Basolato in Fiesole and \u201cAs Time Goes By\u201d at the Casa Rossa in Pontassieve. In 2015 he presented \u201cMetropolismo e Dintorni\u201d at the Fornace Pasquinucci in Capraia Fiorentina. In 2018 his work appeared in the group show \u201cPinocchio al Pinocchio\u201d at the Casa Culturale in San Miniato Basso, followed by the solo exhibition \u201cSilent Minorities\u201d at the Casa Museo Arcieri Bitonti in San Mauro Forte.
