Masato Yoshioka was born in Osaka in 1953. In 1974 he studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, where he won first prize in the painting program of the Department of Fine Arts at Musashino Art University in Tokyo and received a special award at the 12th Santama Niki Exhibition in Tokyo. In 1982 he earned his degree in Fine Arts from Tokuba University in Ibaraki. He has since participated in numerous group exhibitions in Tokyo, Kyoto, Chiba, Kanagawa and many other locations around the world. He is currently a professor at Saitama University and gives lectures at the Niki-kai.
